The use of off-grid wind solar hydrogen production can effectively promote wind solar consumption and optimize energy structure, improve wind solar utilization efficiency, achieve on-site consumption of clean energy, and effectively explore the new direction of “green hydrogen” energy strategy. The output of renewable energy has great uncertainty.
System description The system under study comprises of an alkaline water electrolyzer (AWE), a battery energy storage system (BESS), and solar PV and wind installations for renewable power generation.
Xu et al. presented a multi-optimization for stand-alone solar PV-wind hydrogen systems to simultaneously minimize the cost of energy, the loss of power supply possibility, or the fraction of power consumption not met by the generation, and the power abandonment rate, or the fraction of power generation curtailed.
In the study by Tazay et al. , a grid-tied hybrid PV/wind power generation system in the Gabel El-Zeit region, Egypt, was modeled, controlled, and evaluated. Simulation results revealed that the hybrid power system generated a total of 1509.85 GW h/year of electricity annually.
