5G base stations have experienced rapid growth, making their demand response capability non-negligible. However, the collaborative optimization of the distribution network and 5G base stations is challenging due to the complex coupling, competing interests, and information asymmetry among different stakeholders.
At the same time, a large number of 5G base stations (BSs) are connected to distribution networks , which usually involve high power consumption and are equipped with backup energy storage, , giving it significant demand response potential.
Standalone (SA): standalone networking. SA uses an end-to-end 5G network architecture, where 5G standards are used on terminals, base stations, and core networks. SA supports a variety of 5G new services, including eMBB, URLLC, and mMTC, and is applicable to the middle and later stages of 5G network construction. Routers support NSA and SA.
To meet 5G high data requirements, we will need more infrastructure (i.e., macro and micro base stations, data centers, servers, and small cells).
