This study investigated the potential of three voltage regulation strategies to prevent or mitigate problematic voltage fluctuations in the LV grid, which are caused by rapid changes in the power output of distributed PV systems.
By reinforcing the grid, voltage fluctuations are reduced because of an increased capacity and reduced resistance of the LV grid cables. Nevertheless, this voltage regulation method is costly, requires replacement of many LV cables and is therefore identified as undesirable .
