Construction is set to enter a new phase as solar PV modules have begun arriving at Oman’s Manah 1 solar plant. The 500 MW solar facility is under construction in the Wilayat of Manah in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. The Manah 1 Solar plant is expected to have over 1 million PV modules installed over the following months.
Taken together with parallel plans for the implementation of a raft of Wind IPPs and combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power projects, total investment in Oman’s power sector is set to balloon to well over $5 billion over the next six years through to 2030.
The ground-mounted solar project is currently under construction by Jinko Power Technology and Sembcorp Utilities. What’s more, it is expected to be commissioned by May 2025.
