Copenhagen Energy has been developing the projects since the start of 2024. It will now proceed work with the procurement of long-lead components such as batteries, inverters, and transformers, after which it will choose engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors and key suppliers.
With construction works scheduled to begin late this year, the facilities are expected to be commissioned in the first half of 2026. Copenhagen Energy has been developing the projects since the start of 2024.
Commenting on the Danish energy storage market, Copenhagen Energy said that it offers a solid mix of revenue opportunities through both ancillary services and energy arbitrage.
Lastly, a comparative life cycle assessment was conducted to evaluate different self-sufficient ratios (SSR). The results show that as SSR increase, the optimised capacities of all components generally increase, although this relationship is complex, particularly as the system approaches full renewable capacity.
